The 2008 Winter Retreat will be held again in Tacoma, Washington. The Sheraton Tacoma Hotel has transformed itself into the Hotel Murano! It has been totally renovated and in celebration of the artistry of glass. For reservations at the special Winter Retreat Hotel Rate, your reservation request must be made by filling out the form at the bottom of this page and submitting it to us. Information on types of rooms and costs are there also so you can make your choices. The Hotel Murano will not be taking reservations for the Winter Retreat directly. Please follow directions, carefully.
About the Hotel Murano
Our hotel has undergone a full transformation and is called The Hotel Murano in celebration of glass artists in honor of it's proximity to the world class Museum of Glass. Again this year we have the large pavilion space and full use of the Ballrooms just below the hotel lobby. We are moving our evening events back to the main ballroom in the hotel which allows us to expand the Marktplace. I know you will not be disappointed! We will continue to have plenty of room that you all like for sitting, sharing time with friends, knitting and hanging out. The hotel has the same helpful staff and we think you will love the changes and find that it is even more the small, warm and friendly hotel right in the middle of the arts center of a wonderfully revitalized downtown Tacoma. An amenity you may appreciate is the Savi Day Spa at the Hotel Murano where you can do some serious relaxing. Be sure to save time in your schedule for relaxing, shopping at the Marketplace, hang out with friends, pop into art galleries and boutiques or visit one of the internationally acclaimed Museums: Museum of Glass, the Washington State History Museum or the Tacoma Art Museum.
Getting to the Hotel Murano
CAR: The Hotel Murano is at 1320 Broadway Plaza near the new Convention Center in Downtown Tacoma, Washington. It is just minutes away from Interstate 5 exit 133 to Highway 705 following signs to "City Center".

TRAIN: From Portland and other points south, the train stops at the Tacoma Amtrak Station and you must take a short cab ride to the Hotel Murano. Please check Amtrak website for schedules and more information. Call the Hotel Murano Bell Desk for more information concerning Cab companies. From Seattle take the Sounder Commuter Train to the Tacoma Dome station. You can then take the free Tacoma Light Rail Trolley to within a block of the hotel where you must walk the last block uphill to the hotel from the light rail stop.
BUS OR TRAIN FROM SEATTLE: Check the Sound Transit bus and rail schedules for times and stops between Seattle and Tacoma. The Sounder Train stops at the Tacoma Dome station. See "Train" above.
PLANE: Fly into SeaTac Airport and take the Capital Aeroporter with regularly scheduled shuttles directly to the Hotel Murano from the airport. It leaves the airport approximately every 1.5 hours from 5:30 AM to 11:50 PM. Reservations are not required for regular runs but are advised. For more information call 1-800-962-3579. Check with the Hotel Murano after arrival to arrange your shuttle back to SeaTac Airport for your flight home.
PARKING AT THE HOTEL: Overnight hotel guests will receive a reduced daily parking fee of $8 plus tax added to their hotel bill. Onsite parking for daily visitors is $12 for self-parking. Currently, complimentary daytime parking is available at the Tacoma Dome Train Station and the free light rail trolley will take you to a block from the hotel. Note that the last block to the Hotel from the Light Rail stop is an uphill walk.

THE HOTEL WILL NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS DIRECTLY. You must make your reservations online through Madrona Fiber Arts by January 23, 2008 in order to be sure to receive the special room rates for the Winter Retreat. Use the reservation request form below. Special rates are available for 3 days prior to the retreat dates and for 3 days after.
